Republican News Bulletins
R.N.B. Issue 1, December 2011.
It has been brought to the attention of the leadership of Republican Sinn Fèin, that yet another bogus statement has been released to the media from the Des Dalton led splinter group. This small group of people, which is based in an office in Parnell Street, left the republican movement in 2010 and is nothing more than a personality cult centred on Des Dalton and Ruairí Ó Brádaigh, this minor group of people no longer adhere to the principals of true republicanism and are now irrelevant. The bogus statement was in relation to the late Liam Kenny. This statement can only be described as disgraceful and disrespectful in the lowest form. This is not the first time, this splinter group has issued false and derogatory statements about this man. We in Republican Sinn Fèin wish now to clarify Liam Kenny’s position within this organisation. The late Liam Kenny was, at the time of his death, joint general sectary of Republican Sinn Fèin. He was a tireless and staunch anti-drugs activist who stood up against the scourge of drugs that destroys our community’s. Liam Kenny was held in very high regard in the republican movement and his memory always will be. Liam Kenny was a true Irish republican. We say to those who try in desperation to slander the memory of the dead to stop immediately. The only cause you serve now is the destruction of the republican movement. The bogus statement is signed by John Horan, who claims to be PRO of Comhairle Ceantair Atha Cliath, we wish now to point out that this individual ‘John Horan’ has no connection whatsoever to Republican Sinn Fèin and does not speak on behalf of the organisation. We say to any individuals who have been misled by Des Dalton and his cronies, if you still want to work towards the 32 county republic, you are in the wrong place, the only cause served by Dalton and co. is that of the enemy.

Over the past few days’ heavy handed raids have taken place on the homes of Republicans in the Dublin and Limerick areas. The Garda special branch and ERU violently smashed their way into the homes of Republicans in early morning raids. One young man from the Limerick area was severely beaten by the ERU in his bead and suffered a dislocated shoulder. The Gardaí caused an unprecedented amount of damage to the homes of republicans, practically smashing doors into matchwood. Three members of Republican Sinn Fèin have been arrested in the past days and two are still being held in Free State Garda stations in Dublin. These arrests are nothing more than a politically motivated attack by the Free State establishment to try and crush resistance against British rule, and must be strongly condemned. Republican Sinn Fèin also strongly condemn, what can only be described as black propaganda and blatant lies which have been published in newspapers such as the Irish Daily Star and Sunday World on the arrests. These papers have printed nothing but lies and slander and it is the strong belief of the Republican movement that this false information has been deliberately forwarded to these papers for publication by the Free State establishment to blacken the names of Irish Republicans and the Republican movement in general. The Continuity Irish Republican Army has been in contact with Republican Sinn Fèin in relation to the article published in the Irish Daily Star on Saturday December 17th, they have stated “No so called hit list was found or, for that matter existed. The Continuity Irish Republican Army have not given any person whatsoever a list of people to kill. We view the publication of such lies as extremely serious; this is an obvious attempt by British or Free State agents to cause friction amongst Republican organisations. The British occupying our six counties are the enemy and not fellow Republicans. The Continuity Irish Republican Army sends solidarity greetings to all other Republican organisations who carry on the war for the freedom of our country. Now is a time for Irish Republicans to co-operate in the task ahead of freeing our nation, friction amongst Republicans serves no other purpose than harming the Irish Republican movement.” Republican Sinn Fèin is used to such treatment at the hands of the British and Free State forces and will not be intimidated, by this hooliganism. Republican Sinn Fèin will continue our work towards the 32 county Irish Republic, no matter what the criminal British or Free State forces subject us too. These tactics have not worked in the past and will not work now.

The Ard Chomhairle of Republican Sinn Fèin has become aware of a letter sent to the Limerick Post newspaper by a person claiming to be the National PRO of Republican Sinn Fèin, Geraldine McNamara. This person is not the National PRO of Republican Sinn Fèin, is not a member and is in no way connected to the organisation. We now clarify this fact to all; any correspondence from this person is to be disregarded as bogus. This letter is just another treacherous attack against the Irish Republican movement by sinister elements bent on destroying Irish Republicanism, namely the Dalton/ Ó Brádaigh led splinter group. It is high time these people walked away from Irish Republicanism and ended their quest to destroy the Irish Republican movement.

The Ard Chomhairle of Republican Sinn Fèin wish to clarify events surrounding the theft of a banner from R.S.F. Dublin at a recent picket. It has been stated by the Dalton/ Ó Brádaigh led splinter group that they “Took a banner from Republican Sinn Fèin to reinforce the point that they have no right to use the name or title of the organisation”. This statement is deliberately misleading and attempts to cover up for a sleazy act of theft. The truth of the matter is that two women associated with the Dalton/ Ó Brádaigh led splinter group , when an opportunity arose, ran off with the banner in an act that can only be described as petty theft. By committing such acts these individuals show the true calibre of the type of people they are.
